the boise watershed environmental arts plan

arts and cultural planning

Public works departments across the nation are integrating public artworks into their infrastructure projects. Ranging from postcard information projects to entire recycling plant designs, artists are being enlisted by public works officials to collaboratively envision projects. One of the purposes of The Boise WaterShed Environmental Arts Plan is to place the Department of Boise Public Works and The WaterShed Education Center into this larger context and to review BPW’s completed public artworks to date. The plan, a conceptual template and working document, has facilitated the completion of numerous works and outlines future public projects and programming at the WaterShed Center.

Conceptual tools, sites, materials, and some initial principles of environmental art are outlined for artists and administrators within the plan.
