Porous Images

installation

Porous Images is a installation of two room-sized camera obscuras and nine works by Alex and Dwaine Carver. Two sixteen-foot fabrics capture two projections from the building’s exterior. The bright, day-lit, 24,000 cubic-foot gallery is transformed into a double-chambered pinhole camera, two points of view from opposite corners of the gallery. The installation and its contents: paintings, drawings and sculpture, were curated by Rachel Reichert, directed by Kirsten Furlong, and invaluably assisted by Chris Adler and Bill Lewis.
